American Suzuki Achieves Best Month in 17 Years, Reporting an 11 Percent Increase in April; Calendar Year Sales up 12 Percent

BREA, Calif.--May 3, 2005--American Suzuki Motor Corp. (ASMC) continues its robust sales growth, posting an 11 percent increase in April 2005 sales compared to the same month last year. ASMC sold 8,084 units for the month; notching a 12 percent increase for calendar year 2005, to date.

American Suzuki's April 2005 sales are its best month since August 1988. The Forenza models achieved a noteworthy 81 percent increase this month and the XL-7 SUV achieved a 52 percent increase.

Evidence of Suzuki's growth is further illustrated by a recent R.L. Polk report showing that Suzuki vehicle registrations increased 47.8 percent in 2004 over 2003, the largest percentage increase of all manufacturers selling vehicles in the United States. "This is American Suzuki's sixteenth consecutive month of sales increases," said Koichi Suzuki, president of American Suzuki's Automotive Operations. "We plan to continue this positive trend, building awareness for the capable toughness, leading-edge styling and high-end features each vehicle in our line offers - all at prices well below the competition."

Boosting Suzuki's sales is a rapidly expanding product line featuring the addition of two new vehicles to the 2005 family: the five-door compact Suzuki Reno and versatile Forenza Wagon. These products, combined with the growing network of more than 540 U.S. dealers, America's #1 Warranty, Suzuki's industry-leading, 100,000-mile, fully transferable, zero-deductible powertrain limited warranty, continue to strengthen the Suzuki brand.
