AAA Hosts Auto Skills Competition May 13

What: Ten teams of two students from Illinois high schools will
compete in the 2005 AAA Auto Skills hands-on competition on
Friday, May 13. The students are competing for thousands of
          dollars in scholarship money.

Students will race against the clock as they try to repair
deliberately disabled 2005 Ford vehicles. The winners who have
corrected the most problems in the least amount of time will
go on to compete in the national competition in Washington, D.C.

In order to compete in the hands-on competition, these students
received top scores on a written exam taken by hundreds of
students in the state of Illinois.

The AAA Auto Skills competition is designed to promote careers in
          auto mechanics.

  When: Friday, May 13
          10 - 10:30 a.m.

  Where: AAA Corporate Headquarters
          975 Meridian Lake Drive
          Aurora, IL

Why: The AAA Student Auto Skills contest encourages young people to
pursue rewarding careers in the auto repair industry. The program
emphasizes the need for automotive technicians to develop advanced
skills needed to service today's high tech vehicles.
