Nissan Helps Make-A-Wish Foundation Build Its New Home in North Texas

IRVING, Texas--May 1, 20053, 2005--Nissan North America, Inc. is helping the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas build The Wishing Place, the soon to be permanent home for the Foundation. Nissan donated $20,000 toward the construction of the new facility bringing its total contribution for The Wishing Place to $45,000.

"We are excited about The Wishing Place and what it means to children and their families in North Texas," said Steve Lambert, president of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation, Nissan's finance division. Lambert added, "It is great to be part of something that will ultimately enhance the wish experience for children struggling with a terminal condition."

The Wishing Place will be approximately 13,500 square feet and is designed to provide an environment where wishes can be made in a setting that offers comfort and sparks the imagination of wish children and their families. It is scheduled to open in the fall of 2005.

"It is only through the generosity of the community and companies like Nissan, that The Wishing Place is becoming a reality," said Barry Smink, president/CEO, Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas. "Children come to Make-A-Wish at a frightening time in their lives, filled with uncertainty, frustrating limitations and pain. The Wishing Place will heighten the power of a child's wish experience and deepen the joy and comfort we provide to the child's family."
