Chrysler Group Announces Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales Results for July 2005

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 8, 2005 -- Chrysler Group reported that its Five Star dealers sold a new July record of 8,868 Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles (CPOV), an increase of 5 percent over July 2004 sales of 8,411 units. Year-to-date sales accounted for 62,972 units, up 8 percent from year-to-date sales last year.

Chrysler brand leads the group with a 14 percent increase, posting sales of 2,739 units. Dodge sales increased 5 percent to 4,262 units. Jeep(R) brand sales declined 5 percent to 1,867 units; however, year-to-date sales are up 10 percent for the brand.

"Sales momentum was strong during July, and customers recognize that Chrysler Group is the trustworthy source for CPOV," said Ray Fisher, Chrysler Group Vice President - Sales, Service and Parts Operations. "The rigorous inspection these vehicles undergo provides reliable sources of transportation, and puts our program one step ahead of the competition."

Chrysler Group offers one of the most comprehensive certified pre-owned vehicle programs in the industry. For a vehicle to be certified under the Chrysler Group's used vehicle program, it must be a 2000 through 2005 model pre-owned vehicle with less than 65,000 miles, and pass a stringent 125 point inspection. Chrysler Group certified pre-owned vehicles are backed by an 8- year/80,000 mile powertrain limited warranty, a 3-month or 3,000 mile maximum care warranty, 24-hour, 365 day full roadside assistance, and $35 per day rental car allowance.

Marketed as "Brand Spankin' Used," Chrysler Group's Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles are sold only through Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep dealerships who have earned the Five Star Certification. Five Star Certification is a comprehensive validation of the dealership's facilities, operational processes, salesperson and technician training accreditation as well as customer satisfaction survey ratings. Approximately 2,400 Chrysler Group dealerships in the U.S. are certified Five Star dealers.
