Volkswagen Offers Great Lease Deals on Jetta and Passat Models

Washington DC August 25, 2005; The AIADA reported that Volkswagen has come up with their own way of increasing sales, and it has nothing to do with employee pricing.

The Wall Street Journal reports VW is pushing lease deals on certain new models with just 1.9 percent APR on car loans.

The deals are also designed to speed up the launch of the new Jetta and Passat models. VW started offering a $199-per-month lease on base-level Jettas in July.

The deal undercuts competitors, such as the Ford Focus, which is smaller and less expensive than the completely redesigned Jetta and has been on the market for six years with few updates. Ron Murphy, general sales manager at Hallmark Volkswagen in Franklin, Tenn., said buyers are flocking to the showroom in response to the new deals(and advertising on The Auto Channel).

The aim is to generate momentum going into 2006, when the auto maker hopes to sell 300,000 vehicles.
