Green teams up with Red Cross again at RIR

Eddyville, Ky. – Mark Green never misses a chance to race at Richmond International Raceway. Green, who drives the #23 BMAR Chevrolet for Keith Coleman Racing, says he’d rather race at Richmond than almost anywhere else.

““I say it every time I come here, but this is my favorite track,” he said. “It’s not that I have any great memories of the place or anything, but it is just a great place to drive. The racing is great because you can run two grooves all the way around the track.”

Green will be supporting the Hurricane Katrina relief effort again this weekend as his #23 BMAR Chevrolet will feature the American Red Cross on the hood.

“Anything we can do to help,” said Green. “It hits home with us as Kim (Crosby) lives in the New Orleans area and Mr. Coleman still has family missing. It is a terrible, terrible disaster and if we raise awareness just a little bit then everything we do is worth it.”

The race on Friday will complete a marathon stretch that saw the Nascar Busch Series compete on 16 consecutive weekends, by far the longest stretch of the year. The series takes the week off next week before traveling to Dover International Speedway on Sept. 24. After another off week, the series picks up again in Kansas City, Kan. on Oct. 8.

Qualifying will air on Speed at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with race following at 7:50 on TNT. All times are eastern.
