JM Family Enterprises Joins Toyota Companies in Donating $6 Million to Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla.--Sept. 13, 2005--JM Family Enterprises, Inc. (JMFE), parent company of Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) - the world's largest privately owned Toyota distributor - its associates and dealers, along with several Toyota companies, have announced a $6 million donation to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina. The donation is being given to both the American Red Cross and other relief efforts for those impacted by the storm.

The Toyota companies contributing to the donation include Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan; California-based Toyota Motor Sales USA and Toyota Financial Services; New York-based Toyota Motor North America; Kentucky-based Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America; and Texas-based Friedkin Companies, the owner of Gulf States Toyota, a privately owned Toyota distributorship.

"We hope that this donation eases at least some of the deep suffering of all those affected by Hurricane Katrina," said JMFE Founder and Honorary Chairman Jim Moran. "There are so many people who are hurting and in need. It's important that all of us do whatever we can to help."

JM Family will match contributions from both its associates and dealers, for a minimum gift of $2 million. The remaining $4 million will come from the group of Toyota companies noted above, and Gulf States Toyota, who will give $2 million each.

According to Jim Moran, the generosity of JM Family's associates and SET dealers enabled the company to double its original donation from $1 million to $2 million. JMFE and SET are also donating to the American Red Cross proceeds from a raffle for a chance to win one of two 2006 Toyota Tundra Double Cab trucks.

"No words can describe the tremendous pain and anguish that tens of thousands of people are experiencing," said JMFE Chairman Pat Moran. "Those of us who have been so fortunate to have been out of harm's way need to come forward and do all we can. We hope other companies will help alleviate the overwhelming amount of damage and suffering this devastating storm has created."
