AAA Texas Closes Houston District Offices in Preparation for Hurricane Rita

HOUSTON--Sept. 22, 2005--AAA Texas has announced that it is closing all of its district offices within the Greater Houston area Thursday, Friday and Saturday due to the threat of Hurricane Rita.
The district offices include:

The closures come after Houston Mayor Bill White called on area businesses to give employees Thursday and Friday off so they can evacuate if necessary. Governor Rick Perry is encouraging Texans living along the coast between Beaumont-Port Arthur and Corpus Christi to leave the area before Hurricane Rita arrives. Forecasters are predicting that the hurricane will arrive at the Texas coast as a category 5 storm by this weekend.

AAA members will still be able to obtain services and information via the company's Website at www.aaa-texas.com. The company's roadside assistance service will remain in service 24-hours around the clock. Members requesting roadside assistance should be aware that service may be delayed or interrupted by the hurricane.

Members who have their homes or vehicles insured with AAA Texas can call the AAA Texas claims hotline at 1-800-672-5246 to file storm damage claims.
