Subaru Supports Fall Car Care Month

-- Nationwide focus on vehicle maintenance and repair begins in October --

CHERRY HILL, N.J., Oct. 3 -- Subaru of America, Inc. today announced its support of Fall Car Care Month, a nationwide effort by businesses, civic groups, the government and the media to focus motorists' attention on the need to maintain and repair their cars.

Starting in October and continuing through the fall, Subaru is working with its dealers that are hosting free car care clinics for owners of Subaru vehicles. Subaru owners are encouraged to bring their vehicles into participating local dealerships for a free professional diagnostic inspection with no obligation. The inspection includes a check-up of all major operating systems with a written report of the vehicle's condition.

The Car Care Council, a non-profit organization created over 25 years ago, promotes National Car Care Month in April and Fall Car Care Month in October. The goal of the organization is to educate motorists about the benefits of proper vehicle maintenance.

October is a perfect time for motorists to get their cars properly serviced before the winter months. Through this nationwide event, the Car Care Council aims to improve highway safety, air quality and fuel conservation.

"Subaru proudly supports the Car Care Council's effort to educate consumers on the benefits of taking care of their vehicles," said Jim Sinclair, vice president, Service, Subaru of America, Inc. "The Subaru car care clinics will not only be a great opportunity for owners to prepare their cars for winter, it will also help to preserve the life of their vehicles - no matter what the weather. In light of higher gas prices, proper vehicle maintenance also ensures the vehicle's most fuel efficient performance."

Subaru owners should contact their local Subaru dealers for available clinic dates and times. Owners can contact 1-800-SUBARU-3 or visit http://www.subaru.com/ to locate their nearest Subaru dealer.
