Kia Motors America Announces October 2005 Sales
Sportage and All-New Rio Are Strong Performers; Year-to-Date Sales Up 4.6%
IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 1 -- Kia Motors America (KMA) remains on pace to set another annual sales record in 2005, despite October unit sales that were below the same month in 2004. Year-to-date sales of 236,993 are up 4.6-percent, while October sales totaled 20,631 versus 22,973 units sold during the same period in 2004.
Kia's next generation products continue to perform well, including the all-new Sportage compact SUV and the Amanti premium sedan, which recently were awarded Kia's first J.D. Power and Associates APEAL Awards. The all-new Rio and Rio5 subcompacts, which arrived in dealerships in late-August, continue to showcase the evolution of the brand's characteristics.
"We're on track for Kia's best sales ever in the U.S. and are thrilled at the strong consumer response new products such as the Sportage and the all-new Rio are receiving," said Len Hunt, Kia Motors America's executive vice president and COO. "We look forward to a strong close to 2005 and setting our sights on achieving even more in 2006."
