Chrysler Group Salutes 'Everyday Heroes' at the Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Company's new float pays homage to the members of the community who risk their lives

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 23 -- Chrysler Group will salute communities across the nation with the unveiling of its new Thanksgiving Day Parade float -- "Everyday Heroes." The patriotic-themed float will feature a policeman, fireman and an emergency worker -- the heroes that keep communities safe and proud. The Detroit parade airs Thursday on WDIV-4 from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (EST). Eric Ridenour, Chief Operating Officer, of Chrysler Group, and several local police, firemen and emergency workers will ride on the float and greet parade watchers.

"Everyday Heroes," developed by Jeep(R) and the DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund was designed with the Jeep brand as the inspiration. The Jeep brand has long been described as rugged, ready and heroic, and the theme for the new float soon became "Everyday Heroes" -- a salute to the heroes that communities see every day.

"People do not have to look far to determine who the real heroes are," said Frank Fountain, Senior Vice President - External Affairs and Public Policy. "Our new Thanksgiving Day Parade float, 'Everyday Heroes,' shows our community's pride and respect for those who provide necessary services to their communities and even risk their lives. These are our heroes every day."

The "Everyday Heroes" theme complements the Jeep brand's heroic reputation. The float pays homage to those heroes seen in our communities every day. Jeep recognizes heroes such as police and firemen for their strength and courage.

Chrysler Group plans to utilize the "Everyday Heroes" float throughout the year at various dealer and community events. The float will be seen around the United States around Memorial Day, Veteran's Day and other national holidays.

The DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund has sponsored the Thanksgiving Day Parade for several years as a part of its ongoing commitment to metropolitan Detroit and the communities where it conducts business. The Fund annually supports hundreds of charitable organizations throughout the United States and around the world with an emphasis on community growth, arts, and education.
