Ultra-Rare Serial Number '001' Cars to Be Sold at 35th Anniversary Barrett-Jackson Event

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--Dec. 6, 2005--The Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. will feature an amazing array of "No. 1" cars as part of the most comprehensive lineup of vehicles ever assembled in their history during its Collector Car Event in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Jan. 14, 2006-22, 2006. Seven Serial No. 1 vehicles will be offered over six auction days during the 35th anniversary event. SPEED Channel will be broadcasting live for 32 hours from the enhanced facilities at WestWorld.

"Over the past 35 years, we've led the car collecting hobby by setting the bar for trends," said Craig Jackson, president and CEO of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Co. "To help celebrate this milestone, we've scheduled an impressive mix of 'firsts.' From the rights to purchase the first 2007 Shelby GT500 coupe offered to the public by Ford, to the 32 hours of live PEE Channel coverage, WestWorld improvements, and a thousand-plus vehicles all selling at 'no reserve,' this is the most anticipated car collecting event in history."

The Barrett-Jackson automotive lifestyle event has expanded to nine days of cars, stars and rock 'n' roll. More than 1,000 vehicles will be offered at no reserve in all price categories including a 1970 Hemi 'Cuda convertible, a pair of 300 SL Mercedes, a coupe and a convertible, from their original owner, and a remarkable Corvette selection featuring examples from all eras including the oldest known 1953.

"We'll auction the first 40th Anniversary Shelby GT350SR, Baldwin Motion '69 Camaro, 2003 Aston Martin AR1, Foose-edition 1969 Camaro, 2006 Foose Stallion Mustang and a very special one-off Barrett-Jackson Covingtons Customs' 35th Anniversary Chopper."
