Most Significant New Vehicle Introductions to be Honored

LINCOLNWOOD, Ill. - Feb. 2: Consumer Guide Automotive, a fine source for new and used car reviews, will unveil its inaugural Most Significant New Introduction award for cars and trucks at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show, being held at McCormick Place from February 8th through February 19th.

To be announced on February 9th, this award represents the best new or completely redesigned car and truck introduced at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show. The winning car and truck must represent outstanding consumer value and deliver innovative and appealing features. Continuing Consumer Guide's tradition of consumer advocacy, the Most Significant New Introduction award spotlights mainstream vehicles.

"The Chicago Auto Show is the nation's premier consumer show, and we feel it is the perfect venue to recognize a car and truck that stand out as the most significant new introduction," Consumer Guide Automotive editor Mark Bilek said. "Our 10 full-time editors will be reviewing all eligible vehicles and we will select the winners based on pre-determined criteria."

The selection process for this award includes each editor using an allocated 25 points to assign to all vehicles open for consideration. Vehicles can be awarded no more than 10 points and the highest number of overall points will determine the winner.

"Consumer Guide Automotive is pleased to announce this new award at the Chicago Auto Show," said Consumer Guide vice president & general manager, Grant Whitmore. "Helping consumers select the right vehicle for their needs is our priority, and distinguishing the most significant new car and truck at this year's show will help consumers identify a vehicle worthy of consideration."
