EPA Praises Biodiesel at National Biodiesel Board's Convention; American Biofuels Fuels VW'S Demo Car At Convention

SAN DIEGO--Feb. 13, 2006--Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Stephen L. Johnson delivered the keynote address to the General Session of the National Biodiesel Board 2006 Conference & Expo in San Diego February 5th thru 8th.

Johnson said, "Our country is on the verge of a dramatic change for how we power our cars, our homes and our businesses. And innovation -- including innovations in biodiesel -- is the catalyst of this change."

"The President knows we are too reliant on foreign oil," Johnson said, and continued: "Renewable fuels like biodiesel are the next step in our steady march toward cleaner, healthier air." Johnson recognized the significant environmental benefits of biodiesel and stated his belief that the U.S. agricultural industry is strong and up to the challenge when it comes to reducing foreign oil.

American Biofuels (ABF), which is 35% owned by Green Star Products (OTC:GSPI), also provided the biodiesel that fueled the Volkswagen demonstration car at the NBB Expo.

Actress Darryl Hannah, also a keynote Speaker, received some of ABF'S biodiesel in her Car.

ABF was represented at the NBB Expo by its marketing partners Energy Merchants, who also had an exhibition booth at the Expo (see press release dated December 2, 2005). The NBB Expo was the largest ever and had over 2,000 registered attendees and representatives from many countries.

The conference was buzzing with excitement because only a week earlier President Bush set a goal of replacing 75% of US Oil Imports with alternative fuels by 2025.

ABF is ramping up to meet the ever-increasing demand for biodiesel.

ABF recently announced their expansion plans for their existing Bakersfield Biodiesel Production Facility in California (see GSPI press release dated January 27, 2006).

ABF recently received its largest shipment to date of five railroad cars of feedstock vegetable oil to process into biodiesel (see pictures at GreenStarUSA.com).
