Kansas City, MO - February 13, 2006: Weld Wheel Industries introduced a new wheel for off-road racing and rock crawling competition at the 2005 SEMA show. This new wheel called the Commando P.R.O.™ (Professional Racing Only) is designed for the rigors of desert racing and other brutal forms of competition. This wheel will undergo further testing in this year’s San Felipe 250.

Hot forged from an ingot of 6061 aerospace quality aluminum alloy, this one-piece wheel sets a new standard for strength and durability for off-road racing. The bead-loc™ receiver is an integral part of the forging for superior strength and a consistent hardness throughout the forged part unlike welded on bead-locs™. The bead-loc™ ring is retained with 32 12-point recessed bolts for protection and is a hot forged part taken from Weld Motorsports Top Fuel bead-loc™ design, a part renowned for its strength, holding power, and damage resistance. The threaded-in valve stems are positioned out of harms way. The wheel can accommodate a liner or be run without one for reduced weight. The wheel openings are designed to cool the brakes and the wheel can accommodate large competition brakes. The wheel will accommodate a back-space from 4.5” to 6.0”. The available size is 17”x9”. The wheel is powder coated with a translucent gray and has the signature Weld bead-loc in a machined finish.

The Commando P.R.O.™ won the “Best New Product Award” at the 2006 Off-Road Impact Show in January. Weld Motorsports welcomes this important recognition and thanks the selection board for this honor.
