2006 Breva V 1100 Combines Italian Heritage with Impressive Performance, Rideability and Design

NEW YORK - Feb. 23,2006: Moto Guzzi USA, manufacturer of the legendary "Italian Eagle" Moto Guzzi(R) motorcycle and a pioneer of two-wheel vehicles, has announced the availability of the Moto Guzzi 2006 Breva V 1100 in the U.S. market. The new NAKED class motorcycle combines Moto Guzzi's renowned Italian racing heritage with cutting-edge technology and powerful performance to provide a comfortable, enjoyable and eye-catching experience for every type of rider.

The Breva V 1100 features the next generation of Moto Guzzi's trademark 90 degree V-Twin engine, one of many technological innovations which represent a new chapter in Moto Guzzi's engineering heritage. With twin cylinders and electronic fuel injection, the new, fuel-efficient and eco-friendly Moto Guzzi V-Twin (Euro3 and CARB-compliant) provides the throttling soundtrack for every ride and generates the smoothest experience, even at a low torque level. The Breva V 1100 also features a new Moto Guzzi patented Shaft Drive transmission technology, which offers smooth power delivery as well as low noise and maintenance levels.

In 2006, Moto Guzzi celebrates its 85 year anniversary and the company's finely crafted machines reflect the sensibilities and timeless beauty of its Lake Como, Italy birthplace. Today, Moto Guzzi's exceptional track record makes it one of the longest continuously produced motorcycle brands in the world.

On sale now and available at authorized Moto Guzzi dealers, the Breva V 1100 has an MSRP of $12,490.

"With the heart of a classic touring motorcycle and the soul of a powerful sport bike, the Breva represents the perfect hybrid for riders who want agile performance in their everyday trips or extended touring rides," said Paolo Timoni, CEO of Moto Guzzi USA. "Its unique engine components and edgy design are the next steps in Moto Guzzi's evolution spanning more than eight decades."

Satisfying the needs of all riders, the Breva V 1100's seat placement is natural and relaxed thanks to the optimal engine position. Its classic front headlight and sporty tail light with LED lighting embody Moto Guzzi's flair for design, while its communications panel, LCD and onboard computer enable riders to utilize the best of modern technology at their fingertips. Its perfectly positioned handlebars, footrests and its anatomically shaped tank ensure relaxation at any speed and in every environment.

"For the last 85 years, motorcycle enthusiasts have looked to Moto Guzzi for outstanding European motorcycle design and technical engineering," said Timoni. "'Breva' refers to the southerly wind that blows over Lake Como, Italy, where Moto Guzzis are made. That air of excellence in performance and style is one that we know will translate overseas in the American market as well," Timoni said.

The new patented Compact Reactive Drive Shaft system for the Breva V 1100 integrates the drive shaft inside the aluminum alloy swing arm to guarantee smoothness and precision. Its newly designed engine and twin spark ignition ensure reliable combustion levels while improving emissions to make the Breva incredibly eco-friendly as well.

The Breva V 1100 is available in a range of colors, which include: Corsa red, the color of the legendary Moto Guzzi racing bikes, classic Guzzi black and sophisticated "Sasso del Lario" grey.

Moto Guzzi, one of Europe's oldest continuous manufacturers of motorcycles, was founded in 1921 on the shores of Lake Como in the village of Mandello del Lario, Italy, where the motorcycles are still manufactured today.
