ANAHEIM, CA - June 21, 2006: Faced with the date change and preeminent position of the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show (to earlier November instead of the traditional January dates), as well as to target the specific region of California in which the auto show is held, the former California International Auto Show has announced its name will change to the "Orange County Auto Show," effective today. The show will run from October 4-8, 2006, at the Anaheim Convention Center.

According to John Sackrison, auto show co-director, "Orange County's prominence has grown over the last ten years and we feel the name change clearly defines the show's audience as one of the largest luxury and consumer markets in North America." He added, "The new name more effectively communicates to the 10.9 million people who live within a 30-mile radius of the Anaheim Convention Center that this is their show."

The Orange County Auto Show is expected to feature more than 500 brand-new vehicles covering over 665,000 square feet, and will also include concept cars, exotics, tricked-out aftermarket vehicles, celebrity rides, hybrids, ride and drives and more.

The show is presented by the Orange County Automobile Dealers Association and the Southland Motor Car Dealers Association. Show hours are Wednesday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is $10.00 for adults (13 and over), $6.00 for senior citizens (62 & over), and free for children 12 and under. Weekday discount coupons can be downloaded from the official auto show website at www.orangecountyautoshow.com.
