Team Jeg’s to take part in Woodward Dream Cruise
BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – The familiar yellow and black colors of Jeg’s Mail
Order will be prominently on display during the 12th annual Woodward Dream Cruise
on Saturday, August 19. The Jeg’s Mail Order display trailer will be set up
at 33300 Woodward Ave. in Birmingham, Mich., and three-time NHRA World
Champion Jeg Coughlin Jr. will take part in the popular event for the first time.
Coughlin plans to bring three cars to the Dream Cruise including his ’67 Chevy
II station wagon, the 1955 Chevy Nomad which was recently featured on the
cover of the Jeg’s Mail Order catalog, and a turbo charged 2000 Chevy Corvette
convertible that was built by the late John Lingenfelter.
“I've heard great things about the Woodward Dream Cruise for years and I
have always wanted to check it out for myself, but never got the opportunity
until now,�?? said Coughlin.
"The Woodward Dream Cruise is one of the most highly anticipated automotive
events of the year and a must-see for hot rod enthusiasts of all ages. The
Cruise annually attracts upwards of 40,000 muscle cars, street rods, and other
special interest vehicles as well as over 1 million spectators. The cruise
extends through a 16-mile stretch of the famed Woodward Ave., through the
Detroit suburbs of Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township,
Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, Pontiac, and Royal Oak.
Coughlin filmed an episode of Car Crazy on site at the 33300 Woodward Ave
location during the weekend. Barry Meguiar, host of Car Crazy was on site at
the Jeg's compound to talk about the love for cars Coughlin's have and their
business.
Coughlin has spent most of the summer racing in various sportsman events
across the country and has had a tremendous amount of success, winning at least
six major event titles with his Jeg’s Mail Order dragster. Attending the
Dream Cruise will give him a chance to relax and regroup before making an
appearance at the largest drag racing event of the season, the NHRA Mac Tools U.S.
Nationals.
