      Museum
   * Sunday, September 10 is National Grandparents Day
   * Admission is free for the first 200 non-members who register

WHAT: As part of an ongoing grant from the DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund to the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History (Wright Museum), more than 300 grandparents and their grandchildren will celebrate Grandparents Day at the museum. This kick-off event is part of a continuous education outreach initiative to heighten the MAAH's exposure to young people and to encourage them to become MAAH members. The event, "Celebration of Generations," recognizes grandparents raising grandchildren and observes the national holiday that was first recognized in 1979 to persuade grandchildren to tap into the wisdom and heritage of their grandparents. Grandparents Day is now observed by millions throughout the United States.

WHO: DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund, MAAH and AARP will partner with local schools to host an afternoon of events and festivities in honor of Grandparents Day at the MAAH.
