Midwest Bronco 40th Anniversary Round-Up

A few years ago a small group of guys from suburban Chicago got together to form a loose group who all had a passion for the Early Bronco. From time to time they would get together for a barbeque or meet down at the Badlands in Indiana for some trail riding. Eventually a website was created with a well-followed forum section. Suddenly 66to77.com became a major portal for Bronco enthusiasts throughout the Midwest. The question was presented, if we put on a real event, would anybody come?

The answer is absolutely!

That event was the Midwest Bronco 40th Anniversary Round ?Up in Northern Wisconsin. The official event consisted of camping, trail riding, a show n shine event, a ramp challenge, a raffle, and a cookout. The entire event was based out of McCaslin Mountain Campground in Silver Cliff, Wisconsin. The events began on Friday, but several enthusiasts began showing up a week ahead of time. Participants traveled from all over the Midwest and as far away as Virginia and California. A total of 69 Ford Broncos participated in the event. All those that pre-registered received a goody bag with cool stuff from event sponsors and an event t-shirt. The crew, on Saturday night, prepared dinner and served the corm roast to over 125 hungry Bronco fans.

The trail rides wound throughout the Nicolet National Forest. The trails offered some of the most breathtaking scenery in Northern Wisconsin as the fall colors of the forest were at their peak. The trail itself offered something for everyone. It ranged from smooth gravel roads, to wet mud, to slick rocks.

The Show n Shine Competition had several winners. Including:

Best Show & Shine - Wayne Mostek of Depere, WI
Best Trail Rig - Keith Truckey of Green Bay, WI
Best Ramp Challenge - Ron Richard of Lodi, WI
Best Early Bronco - Tim Hulick of Indianola, IA
Best Full Size Bronco - Scott Melichar of IGH, MN
Best Bronco II - Eric Caelwaerts of Green Bay, WI.

Thanks to Phil?s Inc.-Truck Stuff, for the unique acrylic trophies.

The raffle has some incredible off-road products up for grabs.
