Silicon Valley Leadership Group Holds Press Conference to Announce "Clean and Green" Alternative Energy Action Plan

WHAT: Silicon Valley Leadership Group will hold a press conference to announce a comprehensive 11-point plan to encourage Silicon Valley employers and workers to engage in greenhouse gas reduction efforts. The plan includes 11 pillars that will promote new thinking and business level initiatives around ridesharing, fuel efficiency, better leverage of public transportation and some competitive events to bring out the best of Silicon Valley.

WHO: Silicon Valley CEOs and other top executives will join the Silicon Valley Leadership Group in calling upon companies and workers to get involved in the Clean and Green campaign. Attendees will include: Godfrey Sullivan, president and CEO of Hyperion Solutions, Len Kwiatkowski, vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Tom McCalmont, president and CEO of ReGrid Power, and Tom Bottorff, senior vice president of customer service for PG&E. Executives will be on hand following the announcement for interview opportunities.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES: A 65-foot, double-tank, 8800-gallon oil tanker truck will be on hand to represent the gallons of gas and subsequent emissions saved by driving just 40 fuel-efficient vehicles per year. In addition, a number of hybrid cars that were purchased as a result of Hyperions Drive Clean to Drive Change initiative will be on hand. Approximately 150 Hyperion employees are currently driving hybrid vehicles, saving more than 33,000 gallons of gas per year. PG&E will also be providing a plug-in Hybrid vehicle.
