TORRANCE, Calif., April 5 -- Scion, of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., announced manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) today for the all-new 2008 xB.

"Owner feedback was a tremendous asset in helping us build the second-generation xB," said Mark Templin, Scion vice president. "Scion created an xB that is larger and more powerful than the previous generation with a healthy dose of attitude."

The all-new xB is powered by a 2.4 L dual overhead-cam four-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) which produces 158 horsepower, 55 more than the previous generation. The xB features either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic with sequential shifting, a first for automatic four-speeds in the Scion line-up.

Riding on an all-new chassis, this xB is now a foot longer and almost three inches wider than its predecessor.

The 2008 xB comes generously equipped with standard features including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with Traction Control (TRAC); four-wheel disc brakes; anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA); tire pressure monitor system; driver and front passenger dual stage airbags; front seat-mounted side airbags; front and rear side curtain airbags; 16-inch steel wheels, one inch larger than its predecessor, with wheel covers; cruise control; 160-watt maximum output Pioneer audio system with iPod connectivity and a mini-jack port; tilt steering wheel with audio controls; multi-informational display; remote keyless entry; power steering, windows, and door locks; air conditioning; power side mirrors with turn signal indicators; and driver's seat armrest.

xB models with a manual transmission will have an MSRP of $15,650, an increase of $1,620 or 11.5 percent. The MSRP for automatic transmission models will be $16,600, an increase of $1,770 or 11.9 percent. The new xB will reach Scion dealers in early May.
