SHANGHAI - July 24, 2007: Volvo Cars has announced that they will be selling four models in China: the S40, XC90, C30 and S80 T6. The S40 will be built in Ford’s Chongqing plant, while the other three models will be imported from abroad.

The C30, Volvo's first two-door sedan, debuted at the Paris Auto Show last year. It will be introduced with a USD MSRP of about $22,700 (RMB172,000 yuan).

The Volvo C30 is built on the Ford C1 platform, on which Mazda3, Focus and Volvo S40 are also built. Insiders predict the C30 may also be built in China. According to the sales figure given by Volvo (China), in the first half of this year, Volvo sales increased 81% year-to-year, spurred on by the success of the S40. With such an increase in sales Volvo must enlarge their sales network within China to meet the demand.
