Northwood University's student-run show features new, concept and classic cars

MIDLAND, MI - September 21, 2007: Auto enthusiasts will get their first look at the newest and hottest innovations from auto makers worldwide at the upcoming Northwood University International Auto Show September 28-30, 2007 at Northwood University's Midland, Mich. campus. The student-run show, now in its 44th year, is the largest outdoor auto show in North America and one of the largest shows of its kind in the world.

Dubbed "The Desire, The Drive, The Destination," the 2007 International Auto Show will reflect the ever-changing automotive culture and features more than 500 new domestic and import vehicles, including cars, trucks, vans, recreational and concept vehicles, plus an extensive aftermarket exhibit. The Sunday Classic Car Show on September 30 will feature more than 75 vehicles and over 20 historic Rolls-Royces.

Northwood University students organize and manage the annual International Auto Show, with more than 800 students pitching in for this year's event. The show's 2007 general chair, senior Tiffany Nabozny, credits the hard work of the students for making the show a success. "The 2007 International Auto Show has grown to include 100 more vehicles than last year's show - that's a 25 percent increase in one year," said Nabozny. "This figure is just further proof of Northwood students' commitment to successfully managing the biggest and the best outdoor auto show in the country."

"The Northwood University International Auto Show is an extraordinary event," said Keith Pretty, President and C.E.O, Northwood University. "The quality of the vehicles, speakers and exhibits truly speaks to the professionalism and the drive of Northwood students."

The International Auto Show, with more than 35,000 attendees expected, will also feature several other highlights for auto enthusiasts, including the actual Camaro "Bumblebee" that actor Shia LeBeauf drove in the summer movie blockbuster Transformers; a classic Airstream trailer, retrofitted by Scion with the latest technology to offer visitors a unique interactive multi-media experience; plus a few surprise vehicles.

A V.I.P. event will open the show on Friday, featuring keynote speaker Dean Eisner, president and C.E.O. of Manheim, and a panel discussion with industry leaders and influencers, including Jamie Power from J.D. Power and Associates; Jody DeVere, President of AskPatty.com and Women's Automotive Association International; Don Reimondo of Affinia Group Inc.; Chip Perry, President and C.E.O. of AutoTrader.com and Darryl Jackson, V.P. of U.S. Sales for Chrysler.
