PHOENIX--eBay Motors based American Concours Foundation conducted two online auctions in August during the famed week that brings thousands of car enthusiasts to the California Monterey Peninsula each year for events such as the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races. ACF donated $47,688.00 from these auction sales to charities.
During the Friday Concorso Italiano event, several online auction cars were available for public viewing and live bidding from laptop computers. Representatives of eBay Motors were on hand at the ACF booth to educate the public about bidding and buying cars online. A 1966 Sunbeam Tiger sold during this auction and is going to Germany. ACF donated $2,331.00 of the sales proceeds to Children’s Hospital of Seattle.
During Pebble Beach RetroAuto, an all-things-automobile exhibition offered in recent years by long running Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, additional online auction cars were on display for public viewing. A 1931 Packard and a 1934 Packard 12, a 1953 Buick Skylark and a 1953 Allard K3 found new homes in California, Arizona and Massachusetts. ACF donated proceeds from these sales totaling $45,357.00 to Pebble Beach Company Foundation.
Several live collector car auctions were held during the Monterey Car Week by renowned companies such as RM Auctions, Russo and Steele, Kruse International, Christie’s, Bonham’s and Gooding & Company, host of the famed Pebble Beach Auction. The ACF auctions on eBay Motors offered those who did not travel to California from other states or countries a way to participate in the car week and support charity at the same time. Private collectors and investors with names gracing the Fortune 500 and Forbes lists were able to bid on cars, either from the privacy and confidentiality of their home or onsite.

About American Concours Foundation
Founded in 2005, the American Concours Foundation is a not-for-profit organization created for the purpose of supporting charitable classic car-focused events through the sale of automobiles, motorcycles and Automobilia. ACF brings together the power of worldwide exposure in an online auction format with the added impact of the display of classic cars or motorcycles for live audiences at events. ACF evolved after the Meadow Brook Concours and eBay Motors came together to raise money for their charity event through the sales of classic automobiles online. Working exclusively with tax exempt charitable organizations qualified under IRS code 501(c)(3), ACF has raised more than $300,000 through cash donations made during the sale of vehicles at numerous events. A minimum 6% buyer’s premium becomes the seller’s donation and is added to each vehicle auctioned.
