Happy Thanksgiving: Snow from Missouri to Wisconsin on Wednesday

State College, Pa. -- November 20, 2007 -- AccuWeather.com reports that a mixed bag of wintry weather will greet travelers on Wednesday, considered to be the busiest travel day of the year.

A storm will track up into the Ohio Valley Wednesday. As cold air wraps in on the northwest side of the storm the rain will change to snow from eastern Kansas to lower Michigan. Between one and three inches of snow could fall from northern Missouri to southern Wisconsin Wednesday and Wednesday evening, making slippery roadways for holiday travelers. The storm will intensify Wednesday night with slightly higher amounts possible over central Michigan through Thursday morning.

The American Automobile Association reports a record 38.7 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home over the five days beginning Wednesday, with approximately 80 percent of those trips by car. Meanwhile, the Air Transport Association expects nearly 27 million passengers will pass through the nation's airports over the 12-day period that began on November 16.
