"The checkered flag is waving and we're calling all motorsports and race fans to rush to the finish line to capture the prize of fun and excitement on Auto Racing Day during NAIAS Public Days," said Carl Galeana, senior co-chairman for the NAIAS 2008. "We have so much in store for this event that we urge all race enthusiasts to get in gear and come down to the NAIAS to participate in all of our special attractions."

As presenting sponsor, Sprint brings unprecedented excitement to Racing Day by bringing a special interactive display that showcases four 3/4-scale racing simulators. Auto enthusiasts familiar with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will get the chance to absorb the feeling of a real-life driving experience when they climb behind the wheel and join with family and friends in a race to the finish line.

Fans also can enjoy the sights and sounds of NASCAR Sprint Cup Races through exclusive video footage, free giveaways, and surprise appearances by some of racing's top drivers.

"We are absolutely delighted to bring the thrills of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to NAIAS guests," said Kim Green-Kerr, area vice president -- Michigan & Northwest Ohio, Sprint. "Next to actually putting you in a race car, we can't think of a better way to give race fans the experience of being behind the wheel during a race."

Show cars and other classic race cars will be on display throughout the NAIAS show floor and Cobo concourse. For those interested in a different perspective, even more Auto Racing Day activities will be provided by the American Le Mans Series, the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, and IndyCar, as well as participating automotive manufacturers and other racing-themed organizations. The LeMay Museum -- America's Car Museum(R) -- will exhibit a historical perspective to celebrate the history and excitement of auto racing.

Race fans start your engines and watch for more details in the upcoming weeks about pre-registration for exclusive NAIAS events, giveaways, driver appearances, autograph signings and more!

Racing Day runs from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2008. To purchase tickets visit naias.com/SubPage.aspx?id=308.
