ROCHESTER, Pa., April 4, 2008 -- Pittsburgh Logistics Systems, a leading provider of technology-based third-party logistics solutions, is launching an aggressive initiative aimed at growing the company into a billion dollar transportation logistics entity. The cornerstone of the initiative is to extend the array of customized services presently offered while expanding the company's logistics capabilities into new industries, products and geographies.

Updating the company name to PLS Logistics Services and unveiling an updated logo are the first visual demonstrations of the company-wide commitment to achieving its goal. Strengthening the company infrastructure with the expansion of its workforce and development of a transactional brokerage division, Freight Solutions, position PLS for growth.

PLS President John Gallardo commented, "It is a very exciting time for us as we venture into new markets and offer new products. We are very energized in our strategy to grow our company into a billion dollar organization. Management and employees are committed to providing the best service in the industry. PLS believes our partnership of people and technology position us to fulfill our mission to be the strongest link in our customers' supply chain. We are updating our company name and logo to reflect our new capabilities and strengths."

Based in Rochester, PA, just north of Pittsburgh, PLS ships nearly one million loads each year utilizing a proprietary web-based transportation management platform named eflatbed.com. These loads are transported throughout North America via a network of over 5,000 motor carriers with more than 75,000 trucks, Class-1 railroads and major barge companies.
