Toyota's April global vehicle output up 8.8 percent
According to Toyota's Japanese parent, global production output in April rose 8.8 percent to 727,040 over last year. The increased output marks the 13th straight rise for the company. The group's worldwide output, including Toyota subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor and Hino Motors, rose 8.7 percent to 808,948 vehicles in April. Toyota holds 51 percent each in Daihatsu, a compact carmaker, and Hino, its truck making subsidiary.
