A Message from Bob Moore

A few months back, some industry friends asked me if I would consider running for the SEMA board of directors in the distributor/retailer (D/R) category. I said, "Are you kidding me? I couldn't get elected dog catcher," (and I probably had a look very similar to my picture on the left). Well, they started telling me how my knowledge of business technology would be important because they needed someone on the board that could help "translate" the geek speak of technology into simple terms so non-technology people could understand it (I recall thinking at the time that simple is sort of my specialty).

They went on to say that my writing in Aftermarket Business magazine shows a real insight into the importance that business technology is beginning to play and will play in the future to the SEMA market. How it will keep the mom and pop shops competitive with web sellers; and how it will help both distributors and small manufacturers expand the specialty market to sell more of our products to broader audiences.

They said my thirty years in the aftermarket had given me the kind of exposure to all types of aftermarket companies that a qualified board member needs; from large and small suppliers, to distributors and resellers in both specialty and replacement parts. Well, I was flattered, humbled and a bit intimidated; but I said, "yes." And now I need your help.

I need to ask you for your vote. But more importantly, I need to ask you to spread the word to others. As someone who knows me, I would greatly appreciate you forwarding this email to folks you know in wholesale/retail segment; and maybe add a few words of your own in an endorsement of my candidacy. I love this business and I pledge as a member of the board to continue to champion the cause of the small, independent business people that have made this industry so much fun. If you or your friends need to learn more about me, the candidate's book sent with the ballots has some basic background, or tell them to drop me an email or call one of the number below. I'd be happy to speak to anyone about this great industry we're in and what I have to offer as a SEMA board member.

Thanks, and I really appreciate your help, friendship and vote!

Thanks again for listening and please cast your vote for Bob Moore for SEMA Board.

Sincerely,

Dan Jondron Advanced Digital Strategies
