Expanded boat line represents growing interest in Yamaha's internal drivetrain, which provides class leading fuel efficiency, performance and handling

WASHINGTON, Aug. 18 -- Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA today introduced its 2009 line of boats at the company's annual dealer meeting held this week in Washington, DC.

More than 1000 dealers and international distributors were on hand for the introduction of Yamaha's 2009 line which includes the all new 232 Limited S, featuring a forward sweeping tower with integrated lights and speakers, as well as the best selling 230 Series, which includes the Yamaha AR230 High Output, which was recently named Boat of the Year by Boating(R) magazine.

Combining Fuel Efficiency and High Performance

Yamaha's 2009 boat lineup offers class leading fuel efficiency across both its 21- and 23-foot platforms. Yamaha's twin high output engines can accelerate 0-30mph in half the time of comparably equipped stern drive boats, while using up to 2 gallons of fuel less per hour. In addition, Yamaha's internal drive boats offer a shallow draft, remarkably responsive handling and a stern swim platform made possible by the compact design of the power package.

All New 232 Limited S Redefines Luxury Performance

New for 2009, the 232 Limited S is the premier watersports model that further elevates Yamaha's boat line to premium status. This luxury 23-foot bowrider expands on Yamaha's already stellar list of amenities to feature a beautiful forward-sweeping aluminum tower with integrated stereo speakers and overhead lighting. Also new for the 232 Limited S are bow docking lights and a distinctive dark blue color and graphics combination.

"We are expanding as consumers continue to gravitate toward the features and amenities of our boats that stand out from the crowd," said Mark Speaks, president of Yamaha Watercraft. "We are entering a new chapter for Yamaha boats in 2009 on the heels of being named Boat of the Year and having the best selling 23-foot boat in our industry."

23-foot boats that return to Yamaha's 2009 boat family are the AR230 High Output, recently named Boat of the Year, as well as the luxurious 232 Limited and the feature packed SX230 High Output. Yamaha's 21-foot lineup features the high performance 212SS, the wakeboard focused 212X and Yamaha's popular SX210 and AR210.
