Day-After-Labor-Day Event with Jim Press Open to Media and Industry Professionals

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28, 2008 - The Motor Press Guild (MPG), America's largest professional automotive media association, will host Jim Press, vice chairman, president and member of the board of directors, Chrysler LLC, as the distinguished speaker at its September 2, 2008 meeting. Press will discuss his first year at Chrysler and walk attendees through the company's plan for future success amidst a tough domestic automotive marketplace. This month's event will be held in the Tuskegee Room on the southeast end of the Proud Bird Restaurant near LAX.

Press joined Chrysler LLC as vice chairman and president in September 2007, and is responsible for North American sales, international sales, global marketing, product strategy and service and parts. Prior to joining Chrysler, Press was president and chief operating officer of Toyota Motor North America Inc. and a senior managing director of the parent company, Toyota Motor Corporation. Press was the first international automotive executive elected to chair the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, the industry's top trade group, and served as chairman for a second time during 2006. He has received the "Distinguished Service Citation Award" from the Automotive Hall of Fame.
