Volkswagen Group of America to Unveil Major Philanthropic Effort at Virginia Headquarters Grand Opening

HERNDON, Va., Sept. 12, 2008 - Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, along with other state, local, community and business leaders will join Professor Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Group, and Stefan Jacoby, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, to celebrate the grand opening of Volkswagen Group of America's U.S. corporate headquarters in Herndon, Va. Dr. Ferdinand Piech, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Volkswagen AG, Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of AUDI AG, and Johan de Nysschen, Executive Vice President, Audi of America, will also attend.

The program will feature a major philanthropic announcement by Volkswagen Group of America and the opportunity to tour the contemporary headquarters, which features showcases for Audi and Volkswagen vehicles.

The celebration comes on the heels of the announced construction of a manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, Tenn., and is the culmination of a year's progress for Volkswagen Group's new strategic direction in the United States with the goal of tripling its sales to 1 million vehicles by 2018.

  -- Take the Dulles Toll Road to Exit 10 Herndon/ Chantilly exit.
  -- At the end of exit ramp turn left onto Centreville Road.
  -- At the second stop light, you will see an Embassy Suites hotel.
     Continue on.
  -- Go to 3rd light and turn left onto Sunrise Valley Drive and go
     approximately 1 mile to Woodland Pointe Ave.
  -- Look for the shopping plaza on your left. It is on the corner of
     Woodland Pointe Ave.
  -- Turn left onto Woodland Pointe Ave. The street name changes to
     Ferdinand Porsche Drive after crossing East Park Drive.
  -- Continue on Ferdinand Porsche Drive to the end of the road.
  -- The headquarters is at the end of the road.
