Volkswagen Group of America to Unveil Major Philanthropic Effort

HERNDON, VA Sept. 17, 2008 - Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, along with other state, local, community and business leaders will join Professor Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Group, and Stefan Jacoby, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, to celebrate the grand opening of Volkswagen Group of America's U.S. corporate headquarters in Herndon, Va., Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of AUDI AG, and Johan de Nysschen, Executive Vice President, Audi of America, will also attend.

The program will feature a major philanthropic announcement by Volkswagen Group of America and the opportunity to tour the contemporary headquarters, which features showcases for Audi and Volkswagen vehicles.

The celebration comes on the heels of the announced construction of a manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, Tenn., and is the culmination of a year's progress for Volkswagen Group's new strategic direction in the United States with the goal of tripling its sales to 1 million vehicles by 2018.
