Bryan Stephens to Head Up Allison Transmission Military Programs

INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 23, 2008 - Allison Transmission, a global provider of commercial and military duty automatic transmissions and hybrid propulsion systems, has announced Mr. Bryan Stephens joined the company as the Executive Director, Military Programs. In this role, Bryan will be responsible for the Allison Transmission Military Programs group and share responsibility for Military Engineering on a matrix basis with Laurie Tuttle, Vice President of Engineering.

"The military experience and business background Bryan brings to Allison Transmission will enable our company to continue to rapidly move forward on military programs that are critical to the U.S. government, its allies and the men and women who serve in uniform," said Larry Dewey, Allison Transmission Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Bryan has extensive military experience having served on active duty in the U.S. Army from 1978 to 2006. While on active duty, Bryan's assignments included numerous command and staff positions including Company Commander (8th Infantry Division, U.S. Army Europe), Inspector General (U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command), Battalion Operations Officer and Executive Officer (7th Infantry Division, Ft. Ord, CA), Secretary General Staff (7th Infantry Division, Ft. Lewis, WA), Assistant Deputy Director of Operations (Joint Staff, J-3 Pentagon), Battalion Commander, Brigade Commander, and Division Chief of Staff, (10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY), and Chief of Staff and Deputy, Joint Force Trainer Operations/Chief of Operations the Joint Warfighting Center, U.S. Joint Forces Command, Suffolk, VA.

After retirement from the U.S. Army, Bryan joined Science Application International Corporation (SAIC). While at SAIC he was responsible for specific Joint and Army accounts where he led the development and execution of comprehensive account management campaign plans.
