Shanghai, September 24, 2008 (Gasgoo.com) Porsche released its 2009 Cayenne Turbo S in the Chinese market on September 21. This all-new premium Cayenne model is priced at 2.35 million yuan ($345,000) and customers can place orders now for the car with a deposit of 200,000 yuan, the Beijing News reported today.

The 2009 Cayenne Turbo S, now the fastest Porsche in the Cayenne lineup, made its China debut in April at the 2008 Beijing auto show. Porsche expects launching the new Cayenne Turbo S in China will resonate well with customers there, where 2,510 Cayennes or more than 80% Porsche's total volume were sold last year. The new Cayenne Turbo S was available in the United States in August.

With the rapid growth in China sales, Porsche plans to expand its dealerships in the country to 30 by the end of this year. Beijing was the city where the first Porsche Center opened its doors in 2001. In only a few years, Porsche sales volume in China has grown from about 250 deliveries in 2003/2004 to 3,105 in 2006/2007. Porsche predicts a higher growth in China by 2009.

The Cayenne Turbo S for sale in China is the most powerful Cayenne ever built with a 4.8 liter V-8 twin-turbo powerplant that produces 550 horsepower. Even with a 10% horsepower increase over the Cayenne Turbo, the new Cayenne Turbo S shares identical mileage figures. It can sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds, and top out at 280km/h.

From the outside, the Turbo S can be recognized by its 21 inch SportPlus alloy wheels housed within its painted wheel arches. The air intake grills and wheel arches are painted the same color as the car body. The new understated yet elegant "lava gray metallic" paint option is exclusive to the Turbo S.
