STOCKHOLM, Sweden January 28, 2009: Global engineering group Cavotec MSL has reached an agreement with German heavy transport manufacturer Goldhofer to provide advanced radio remote controls (RRC) for the next three years.

“This arrangement will be mutually beneficial for Cavotec and Goldhofer. Both companies are experiencing a good period of growth, and we are choosing the right moment to combine our expertise,” says Cavotec CEO, Ottonel Popesco.

Cavotec Micro-Control develops and manufactures high quality, advanced radio remote control systems that meet the vast majority of requirements for applications within the offshore, onshore, mining, maritime and process industries. Products range from standard hand-held push button terminals to more sophisticated and custom designs.

At Goldhofer, Cavotec’s RRC systems will allow operators to remotely steer of heavy-duty transport vehicles. Goldhofer vehicles have a payload range from 20 to 10,000 tons and already maximize production capacity with computer controlled production planning. The application of Cavotec RRC’s will further enhance the Goldhofer product offering.

“I am especially pleased that our new Cavotec MC operations in Germany secured this order,” added Popesco, “as it will significantly accelerate its development and contribution to the Group.”
