Nissan North America Announces February 2009 Sales

FRANKLIN, Tenn. March 3, 2009: Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today reported sales for February of 54,249 units versus 86,219 units a year ago, a decrease of 37.1 percent. Sales of Nissan Division vehicles decreased 37.1 percent, while sales of Infiniti vehicles decreased by 36.8 percent.

NNA INFORMATION

Combined sales for Nissan and Infiniti of 54,249 units, compared with last February's sales of 86,219 units, marked a decrease of 37.1 percent. To ensure consistency in our global sales reporting, Nissan North America calculates monthly variances on a straight-percentage basis, unadjusted for the number of selling days in the month. This February had 24 selling days, and February 2008 had 25 selling days.

NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS

Nissan vehicles saw sales of 47,890 units in February compared with 76,151 units sold in February 2008, a 37.1 percent decrease.

Sales of the iconic Z sports car totaled 1,452 units in February, a 33.0 percent increase from a year ago.

The Rogue compact crossover saw sales of 5,515 units, an increase of 5.6 percent over the prior year.

INFINITI HIGHLIGHTS Infiniti sales for February were 6,359 units, down from 10,068 a year ago, a decline of 36.8 percent.

The Infiniti FX luxury crossover experienced a sales increase in February of 21.4 percent over the prior year, with sales of 1,074 units.

In North America, Nissan's operations include automotive styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing. Nissan is dedicated to improving the environment under the Nissan Green Program 2010, whose key priorities are reducing CO2 emissions, cutting other emissions and increasing recycling.
