Ferrari of Tampa Bay Hosts Special Photo Presentation of Ferrari Panamerica 20,000 and Magic India Discovery Tours

TAMPA, Fla., March 11 -- As part of a national tour organized by Ferrari of North America, a cocktail reception was held last night at the new Ferrari of Tampa Bay dealership which just opened its doors last month. The tour and cocktail receptions are highlighted by a special presentation of images from two of Ferrari's successful past driving events, the Ferrari Panamerica 20,000 tour and Magic India Discovery tour.

The 2006 Panamerica 20,000 tour featured two specially-liveried V12 Ferrari 599 GTB Fioranos that embarked on a 20,000 mile, 84-day driving tour. The journey brought the cars through 16 countries, from the beaches of Brazil to the east coast of the United States, taking in tropical rain forests, arid deserts and snowy peaks as it crossed the two continents. The event consisted of 15 stages in which 50 journalists from around the world took turns behind the wheel.

The Magic India Discovery tour was held last year and spanned the country of India, starting and ending in Mumbai while passing through cities such as Goa, Calcutta and New Delhi. The 12 stage, 72-day voyage also included a gathering of 50 journalists from around the world, who combined, racked up a total of 11,000 miles driven in two specially designed Ferrari 612 Scagliettis.

The reception displayed the standard production version of these two popular Ferrari V12's. The 599 GTB Fiorano sports a 611 hp engine that can jump from 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds while the four-seat flagship GT 612 Scaglietti has a 532 hp engine with a top speed over 196 mph. Also on display was Ferrari's new V8 track-star 430 Scuderia, which boasts a 503 hp engine that rockets from 0-60 mph in under 3.6 second with a top speed of more than 198 mph. The tour will continue to other Ferrari dealerships across the country until the end of May.

Ferrari of Tampa Bay, the newest Ferrari dealership in the U.S., just opened its doors in February of 2009. The 27 thousand square-foot facility, made possible by an investment of $9 million, is the first in North America carrying Ferrari cars only. Florida is the third largest market for Ferrari North America, accounting for more than 12% of its sales in 2008.
