SLOUGH, UNITED KINGDOM – March 13, 2009: Citroën is adding another new Dispatch model to its popular mid-size LCV range. The new Dispatch 1000 L1H1 2.0i 140 petrol-engined panel van is now on sale. In addition, the specification of most other Dispatch models has been further improved with the introduction- either as standard – or as part of option packs – of a multi-function trip computer.

New Citroën Dispatch 1000 L1 H1 2.0i 140
Citroën is extending its petrol-engined LCV range with the launch of the new Dispatch 1000 L1H1 2.0i 140. Based on the Dispatch L1H1 panel van, the new model is powered by a 16-valve 1997cc petrol engine, which develops 103kW (140hp) and has a peak torque rating of 180Nm (132.8lb.ft).

A five-speed manual gearbox is fitted to this model, which has a 988kg payload and gross train weight of 4,050kg, which allows a braked trailer of up to 2,000kg to be towed. The new petrol-engined Dispatch also has a very high specification. In addition to the high level of equipment found on other Dispatch van models, the new Dispatch 1000 L1H1 2.0i 140 is the only one in the range to be fitted as standard with air conditioning and electrically adjustable/heated door mirrors.

Priced from £15,570 + VAT + delivery, the Dispatch 1000 L1H1 2.0i 140 also benefits from a comprehensive range of standard safety, comfort and convenience features. These include twin sliding side load doors, remote central locking, electric front windows, dual passenger seat and load tie-down eyes.

The new Dispatch 1000 L1H1 2.0i 140 has been introduced primarily for conversion to dual fuel (petrol/LPG) operation. As such, Citroën has added a Dual Fuel Dispatch 1000 L1H1 2.0i 140 to its Ready to Run Dual Fuel van range (please see separate release for details).

Dispatch Specification Upgrades
In addition to the launch of the Dispatch 1000 L1H1 2.0i 140, Citroën is further enhancing the specification of models in this range. All Dispatch Combi SX and all 2.0HDi/2.0i powered Dispatch panel vans gain a new Onboard Trip Computer. This provides a comprehensive range of functions including:-

  • Range: distance which can be travelled on the fuel remaining in the tank
  • Current fuel consumption
  • Average fuel consumption: since the last trip recorder reset
  • Distance travelled: since the last trip recorder reset
  • Average speed: since the last trip recorder reset
  • Distance remaining to destination: only available if NaviDrive Pack is specified

In addition, two Dispatch option packs have been upgraded. The £180 + VAT Visibility Pack now includes automatic illumination of headlights, automatic rain-sensitive windscreen wipers and front fog lights. The £350 + VAT Look Pack option has been expanded such that it now includes body-colour paint treatment to front and rear bumpers, electrically-heated and folding body colour door mirrors, black side rubbing strips and front fog lights. Robert Handyside, commercial vehicle operations manager, comments, “The Dispatch is one of Citroën’s best-selling LCV ranges and these latest changes will further improve the appeal of this popular model.”
