Aberdeenshire Council Elects to Buy Superb

MILTON KEYNES, UNITED KINGDOM – April 22, 2009: Aberdeenshire Council has just taken delivery of a new Škoda Superb GreenLine.

The keys for the new car – which delivers low emissions and great fuel economy – were handed over to Mr Bill Howatson, Provost of Aberdeenshire Council, by Alan Robertson, Dealer Principal for Specialist Cars Aberdeen Škoda.

Mr Howatson, who will be using the Superb on official duty, said: "The major factors in purchasing the Superb GreenLine were its environmental credentials, the running costs and the overall value for money, which reflects the vision of Aberdeenshire Council."

The Superb GreenLine is powered by a 1.9 TDI PD engine which produces 104bhp and emits just 136g/km and has combined fuel consumption of 55.4 mpg. It features revised aerodynamics, low rolling resistance tyres and suspension lowered by 15mm to maximise air-flow around the car. In addition, it has modified gearing to reduce engine speed, remapped engine management software and a tyre repair kit instead of a spare wheel. These features help reduce the car’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
