Boston-Power’s Sonata is the longest lasting, fastest charging, safest and only green-certified rechargeable Lithium-ion notebook computer battery. Last month, the company announced that Sonata technology was available for purchase through HP, the world’s top provider of notebook PCs. The result of a three-year relationship between HP and Boston-Power – and marking the first time a US company has ever provided battery technology to a notebook PC provider – HP’s new Enviro Series of Notebook Batteries are based on Sonata technology, feature an industry-first three year warranty, and support more than 70 percent of HP’s consumer PC models. Visit Boston-Power’s website for more information about HP’s Enviro Series.

In January, Boston-Power announced $55 million in growth capital, bringing total investment to $125 million. The company is using the funds to scale manufacturing, sales, marketing, and research and development to meet strong global demand for Sonata. Initially targeting notebook computers, Boston-Power’s technology will also be used to power a wide spectrum of end-applications – including plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and consumer electronics devices.
