Gilbarco’s DiNoia Speaks about Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) at the SIGMA Spring Convention

GREENSBORO, N.C.--Greg DiNoia, vice president and general manager for North America Sales at Gilbarco Veeder-Root, will speak at the Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America’s (SIGMA) Spring Convention at the Westin La Cantera Resort in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, April 24, 2009. The expert panel discussion entitled “DEF: Successful Management of a New Profit Center” describes tactics and solutions to help retailers build infrastructure for new EPA Vehicle Emission Standards for Diesel Engines that go into effect in 2010. New transport trucks will have 20 gallon tanks for DEF and will inject DEF into the exhaust stream to reduce Nitrogen Oxide emissions. The corrosive characteristics and storage temperature requirements for DEF are very different from diesel fuel and gasoline. DiNoia will present the technology options and advice for retailers who consider investing in infrastructure to offer DEF to their customers who drive transport trucks.

SIGMA is the premier national trade association representing independent chain retailers and marketers of motor fuel, both branded and unbranded. SIGMA represents about 250 member companies.
