Eco-aware company to plant a tree for every registered grand opening guest

SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 23 -- The Scoot Shop, Sacramento's only full-service, dedicated scooter dealership today announced their grand opening to be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Scoot Shop, located at 1619-A E Street in Sacramento. In honor of Earth Day and Arbor Day, The Scoot Shop will plant a tree in the California National Forest for every guest that registers during the event.

The Grand Opening celebration will showcase the joys and benefits of scooter riding alongside tips and deals. Guests will be able to speak with a representative from the California Motorcyclist Safety Program who will assist new scooter riders with questions about licensing as well as information about rider courses. Additionally, several of the Scoot Shop's product representatives including Fulmer Helmets, ScootR Logic, Scooter FX, and Scooter Flair decals will be on the premises offering new products and special grand opening pricing.

Scooter enthusiasts and newcomers alike will enjoy the special viewing of the winning SYM HD200 scooter which took first place in the 2008 Scooter Cannonball Run. The HD200 raced from coast-to-coast in ten days. All in-stock HD200's will be discounted throughout the Grand Opening celebration.

"We look forward to sharing our scooters and our love for the scooter lifestyle with the people of Sacramento," said Rebekah Spurgeon Owner and Manager of The Scoot Shop. "Sacramento is the perfect place to scoot. We do have the 15th worst traffic in the country but we also have beautiful weather. People are seeking cheaper, faster, entertaining and environmentally friendly alternatives to driving. Scooters can get up to 150 miles per gallon and are even offered in electric versions. We are confident the people of Sacramento will enjoy riding their scooters as much as we do."

The Scoot Shop will provide complimentary lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be raffles and giveaways throughout the day. Additionally the Scoot Shop will be offering an organized group ride on Sunday, April 26 for all levels of riders.
