Shanghai, May 11 (Gasgoo.com) China Association of Automobile Manufacturers(CAAM) raised 2009 domestic vehicle sales target to 10.2 million units, increasing by 350,000 units over the target set at the beginning of the year, or 8% from the initial 5%, Oriental Morning Post reported today.

After vehicle sales hit a monthly record high of 1.11 million units in March, China's vehicle sales jumped 25 per cent in April from the year before to a record monthly high of 1.15 million units, according to the latest figures released by CAAM.

CAAM said the April figure showed the country's auto industry is seeing signs of recovery as the government's stimulus policies began to be effective.

In the first four months, SAIC sold 768,900 unit vehicles, taking No.1 among the industry, followed by FAW, Dongfeng, Changan, and Beiqi, which sold 527, 300, 499,800, 427,800, 366,000 units respectively.
