  Background:

Courageous Persuaders is a nationwide contest held annually in which high school students from across the country compete to create 30-second TV ads discouraging alcohol use among middle school students. Creators of the winning ads receive more than $17,000 in scholarships from Courageous Persuaders sponsors. Winners will be announced at an Oscar-style awards celebration banquet, attended by several hundred students, parents and others concerned with the issue of drinking and driving. The winning video will be shown throughout Michigan at Secretary of State branch offices.

Members of the media are encouraged to attend the event. Photo and interview opportunities will exist throughout the evening with program organizers and student participants. Contact Marc Harlow to arrange - marc@harlowpr.com, 810.599.2558.
