National Car Rental Offering Special Low One-Way Discounts, No Drop Charges and Unlimited Mileage

ST. LOUIS--Under National Car Rental’s “Drive Out” program, customers traveling from select cities in Florida can rent for as little as $10 per day for economy through mid-size cars or $12 per day for full-size cars.

These special rates are for vehicles dropped off at participating locations in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi or Alabama. In addition, special one-way rates as low as $17 per day are available for vehicles returned to participating locations in many other states, including: Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia.

National’s “Drive Out” program – which is in effect through July 18 – not only offers low one-way rates, but also unlimited mileage and no drop charges. “This is the most cost-effective way to hit the road for business or pleasure,” said Brad Carr, Vice President for Corporate Business Development at National Car Rental.

“We are excited to offer this option to corporate travelers and other time-sensitive consumers looking for a streamlined yet discounted car rental during these tough economic times,” Carr stated. “In the process, we benefit as these customers help us rebalance and reallocate our fleet out of Florida and into other states."

National Car Rental customers, including Emerald Club members, also are able to take advantage of the company’s consumer-friendly refueling policy (at all corporate-owned locations and participating franchises). Under National’s policy, the per-gallon refueling charge is based on the local-market price of self-serve gasoline, plus a mark-up not to exceed 50 percent of the fuel cost. This means National customers pay only about $3 per gallon when they bring a car back to the airport without a full tank of gas (depending on market pricing) – or approximately 65 percent less than what some other major car rental brands charge.

The National Car Rental “Drive-Out” program requires a 24-hour advance reservation and allows a maximum 21-day rental.
