Peter Gago, Chief Winemaker of Penfolds and only the fourth man to be entrusted with making Australia’s greatest wine, Grange, will be speaking about the popularity of Australian wine. Peter will be joined by Andrew Caillard, chair of the Institute of Masters of Wine – Australasia and a principal of Langton’s Fine Wine Auctions to discuss premium Australian wine and opportunities for wine investment. Together, Andrew and Peter will discuss the popularity of the New World Wine category, Australian wine’s rise to fame and how this has affected wine consumption habits across the globe.

Never afraid of breaking down barriers in the wine making world, Penfolds is now doing the same in wine tasting. On the 22nd of June, beamed from the heart of Vinexpo, chief winemaker Peter Gago will be leading a vertical tasting of one of Australia’s landmark wines, Penfolds Bin 389, often referred to as ‘Baby Grange’. The tasting will be broadcast live from France to participants in the US, Australia, UK, Germany, Sweden, New Zealand, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. This is the first known occasion where the same wines will be tasted simultaneously across the world within an interactive forum.
