MULGRAVE, AUSTRALIA – July 22, 2009: BMW is pleased to announce a significant product offering on all 5 Series models to showcase the latest BMW technology and offer customers 3 years servicing for no additional cost.

For the first time all 5 Series vehicles will be equipped, as standard, with Head-up Display, Professional Navigation with 8.8inch monitor, TV and Voice Recognition in addition to the already high level of standard equipment.

Furthermore, the 520d, 523i and 525i now receives Park Distance Control, plus the 530i, 530d and 530i Touring is appointed with Comfort Access as standard fitment. The range topping 550i is additionally equipped with Comfort Access, HiFi loudspeaker system Logic 7 and Active Cruise Control with Stop and Go function at no extra cost.

“The new product offering on 5 Series translates to exceptional value for customers wanting the very best in luxury motoring,” said BMW Group Australia Managing Director, Stavros Yallouridis

“For each 5 Series model the new product offering equates to an injection of significant around $9,000 of additional value,” he said

The ownership experience for 5 Series buyers will be further enriched with a 3 year or 60,000km service inclusive package, offering ‘peace of mind’ and a significant reduction in the cost of ownership versus its competitors.

“The dual benefit of both enriched product substance and 3 years servicing provides a very compelling opportunity for potential buyers,” Stavros said.

The BMW 5 Series range begins with the frugal 520d that sips just 5.6 litres per 100 kilometres, thanks to BMW’s EfficientDynamics, and continues to be the volume seller in the 5 Series range. Diesel power is also offered with the six cylinder 530d that generates 173kW and 500 Newton meters of torque and consumes just 6.6 litres per 100 kilometres, comfortably under the 7.0 litres LCT benchmark.

BMW’s infamous inline six powers the 523i, 525i and 530i with the 550i propelled by a 270kW eight cylinder engine that accelerates from 0-100km in a blistering 5.6 seconds.

Deliveries of the new BMW 5 Series package commence this month.
