Auto Europe Experiences a Shift in Car Hire Demand From the UK to Hot Holiday Destinations

The Met Office's forecast revision, published after the heavy rain and almost wintry spells experienced across the UK during July, dashed any remaining hopes of a heat-wave at home this August. According to Auto Europe's Commercial Director for the UK and Ireland, Peter McAree, holidaymakers looking to scoop up late travel bargains could be in luck if they're able to wait until September:

"Families restricted to school holidays will still find good deals for car hire, as long as they can be flexible on destination," explains McAree. "But from the 7th September when the new term starts, prices and availability for all countries will be greatly improved. With plenty of package deals on offer, this really is the best time to take a break abroad if you're able to."

Auto Europe's top recommendations for September holidays are USA, Italy, Portugal and France.

"These destinations are perfect for travellers who want to avoid the crowds with an off-peak trip," continues McAree. "Temperatures are still pleasant, but much more suitable for sightseers or people with very young children."
